Membership

As a FATE member, you join a national community of artists, designers, historians, and educators. Membership includes:

• Biennial conference eligibility. Registration for FATE’s biennial conference is open exclusively to members, giving you access to the largest national gathering devoted to foundations teaching and research.
• FATE in Review. Read our peer-reviewed digital journal and submit your own scholarship or creative work, with editorial mentorship throughout the review process.
• Professional development, year-round. Join virtual workshops, town halls, and community gatherings to stay connected between conferences, wherever you teach.
• Regional events. Connect with colleagues at FATE events across the country.
• A national platform. Members can apply to present their teaching and research in FATE-sponsored sessions at the CAA and SECAC annual conferences, selected through peer review.
• Awards and recognition. Be eligible for FATE’s awards program, including the Distinguished Educator, Emerging Educator, and Belonging and Community Awards, plus conference travel support.
• Leadership and service. Serve on committees, join conference planning, or run for the board for meaningful national service that grows your career and shapes the field.
• Community. A network of colleagues who share syllabi, strategies, research, and encouragement at every career stage.

Institutional membership is an investment in your faculty and your program. When a college, university, or related business joins FATE, it signals a commitment to excellence in foundations education and connects its people to the national conversation.

Institutions of higher education and related businesses may join by paying a sponsor fee and designating three faculty members as part of the institutional membership.

Institutional membership includes:

• Individual membership for three faculty members. designated by the institution.
• FATE communications. Designated members receive FATE e-newsletters and e-blasts, keeping your program connected to opportunities, events, and news across the field.
• FATE in Review. Access to our peer-reviewed journal, with distribution to interested colleagues and graduate students at your institution.
• Recognition. Your institution’s name is listed on the FATE website and in the biennial conference program.
• Job posting opportunities. Institutional members may request to post foundations search opportunities on FATE’s website.

Institutional memberships run on the calendar year.
