It’s been four long years since FATE held an in-person conference. A lot has happened in those four years; a global pandemic, leading to some of the hardest academic years any of us has experienced, political strife, inflation, the list goes on. We are overdue for a good talk and some fun. It’s time for some Serious Play. We have much planned for the 2023 conference in addition to the expected high-quality talks and presentations. There will be plenty of meals and coffee breaks to hang out with colleagues and friends. The FATE juried exhibition will be held at a world class gallery, juried by a nationally renowned juror, and will showcase the incredible work being produced by FATE members. And that’s just the start of the amazing art opportunities available to you in Denver! We’ll have plenty of fun too. Games? Yes! An arcade? You bet! Plus some of the best people in academia to hang out with? Of course. You know FATE Conferences are always going to be a good time. We can’t wait to see you in Denver. Let’s talk, but let’s have some fun, too. Let’s have some Serious Play.

SCHEDULING POLICY

It is the position of the planning committee that the first session on Thursday is as important and informative as the last session on Saturday. However, we understand that scheduling conflicts and other factors can limit participation to various times and days. Therefore, if you have such a limitation, bring it to your session chair’s attention immediately upon your acceptance to the session. Effort will be made to accommodate your requests, but there are many factors that determine the final schedule, and it may not be possible to meet your individual needs. The conference director’s decisions on scheduling are the final word.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds (minus 3% processing fee) will be provided for all cancellations before March 1, 2023. The processing fee for reimbursement will be deducted from your refund. After March 2, 2023 conference registration refunds will not be offered, as payment will have already been submitted to all conference programming.
